Iran to Unveil New Regulatory Mechanism for Strait of Hormuz Transit
A senior Iranian parliamentary official stated on the 16th that Iran is set to announce a new regulatory mechanism governing transit through the Strait of Hormuz. According to multiple Iranian media reports on the same day, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, posted on social media that Iran has developed, within the framework of national sovereignty and the safeguarding of international trade security, a specialized mechanism for managing navigation within the designated corridor of the Strait of Hormuz. This mechanism is to be made public shortly.

Ebrahim Azizi stated that only commercial vessels cooperating with Iran, and relevant parties, will be able to benefit from it, and that necessary fees will be charged for the professional services provided under this mechanism. He further stated that the corridor will remain closed to those executing the so-called "Freedom Plan" operations.
