DP World has officially joined AmCham Brazil, at a key stage in the group’s nationwide expansion of its port and logistics operations in Brazil. These efforts include an investment of R$1.6 billion (1.6 billion reais) in the Port of Santos and the continued expansion of its logistics services network across major Brazilian trade hubs.

DP World has operated in Brazil for more than a decade, with its business centered on the container terminal at the Port of Santos while continuing to expand the reach of its logistics network. The company currently has six logistics offices in Santos, São Paulo, Campinas, Itajaí, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre, providing freight forwarding, contract logistics, and multimodal transport services to major trade and industrial centers across Brazil. The group’s port and logistics operations work in coordination to offer customers integrated services covering inland transport, freight forwarding, contract logistics, and access to the global ocean shipping network.

DP World entered the Port of Santos in 2013 and plans to invest R$1.6 billion in upgrades, aiming to increase the terminal’s annual container handling capacity to 1.7 million TEUs by the end of 2026, with plans to further increase it to 2.1 million TEUs, thereby consolidating the Port of Santos’ position as one of Brazil’s most important gateways for international trade.

Connecting Brazil with Global Trade

AmCham Brazil is the largest American Chamber of Commerce outside the United States, with more than 3,500 member companies across 16 cities, whose member companies account for approximately 33% of Brazil’s GDP. The organization is committed to improving the business environment, building bridges between business and government, and promoting trade and investment between Brazil and the United States.

Through its membership, DP World will engage with Brazilian and multinational companies across industries, share its insights on global trade and supply chains, and leverage its expanding business network in Brazil to identify new opportunities to serve customers.

This membership continues DP World’s series of collaborations with American chambers in the Americas. In 2024, the group joined the Northeast chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Monterrey, Mexico.

Publicly available information shows that DP World operates in 85 countries, with total port handling capacity of approximately 110 million TEUs and more than 300 freight forwarding offices worldwide. Leveraging this extensive global network, the group has closely connected its growing operations in Brazil with a global network of ports, logistics operations, and trade markets.
